On June 1, the Illinois House passed the Green Ramadan resolution allowing the ninth month of the Islamic calendar as a “Green Month” for all faith communities in Illinois.

“It is a great day for people of faith and for Illinois’s Muslim. Illinois is the first state in the nation that recognizes the month of Ramadan, the month of fasting in Islam, as the month of protecting our environment and our earth for all faith groups.” said Dr. Zaher Sahloul, Chairperson of the CIOGC. “It is incumbent on us to translate the great teachings of Islam, especially during the month of Ramadan, into serious and practical steps to address the challenges that are facing our world like poverty, hunger, wars and global warming. Let us reflect during the month of fasting, not only on how to decrease our calories, but on how to shrink our carbon prints.”

CIOGC is proud to be the principal force in this accomplishment as stated in the resolution.

“We recognize the leading role of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago in raising awareness about green issues and the environment within the faith community… we designate the month of Ramadan, the 9th month of the Islamic lunar calendar, as a Green Month in the State of Illinois in order to promote awareness among faith communities about environmental issues, the reduction of carbon production, and the reduction of wasted water.”

To show appreciation, the Council asks the community to again thank the sponsors of this resolution.

Clearly this is not for all faiths. Only Muslims observe Ramadan and they refer to it as the Month of Jihad or the month of victory (over non-Muslims). Click the links for videos.

Some background on the terror-linked CIOGC whom the Illinois House partnered with on the Ramadan resolution:

…the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC), which is part of a large Chicago Wahabist network with close ties to the aforementioned Mosque Foundation. CIOGC spokesman Rafeeq Jaber was president of the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) from 1996-1998, and again from 1999 until the organization was shut down (for its terrorist connections) by the U.S. government in 2005. Another CIOGC spokesman, Oussama Jammal, claimed that Muslims were not involved in the 9/11 attacks.

The IAP was the pre-cursor to the now infamous Council on American Islamic Relations or CAIR:

Defunct since 2005, the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) was established in 1981 by Hamas operative Mousa Abu Marzook. IAP identified itself as “a not-for-profit, public-awareness, educational, political, social, and civic, national grassroots organization dedicated to advancing a just, comprehensive, and eternal solution to the cause of Palestine and suffrages [sic] of the Palestinians.” The organization sought to advance this goal by producing what it characterized as factual articles on issues that the “Zionist-controlled” Western media allegedly failed to report.

IAP was named in a May 1991 Muslim Brotherhood document — titled “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America” – as one of the Brotherhood’s 29 likeminded “organizations of our friends” that shared the common goal of destroying America and turning it into a Muslim nation. These “friends” were identified by the Brotherhood as groups that could help teach Muslims “that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands … so that … God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.”

One wonders when, if ever, politicians will start vetting the organizations they deal with and give taxpayer money to:

• CIOGC chairman publishes “Commanders of the Muslim Army” Jihad book -Council of Islamic Organisations of Greater Chicago gets funding to help Muslims become American citizens

• Chicago Islamist leader Kareem Irfan of the CIOGC excuses beheadings as “a primordial sense of retaliation and revenge”

• Muslim ‘charities’ in Chicago , the IAP & Quranic Literacy Institute must pay parents of terrorist victim $156 ml for his murder

FYI: Green also happens to be the color of Islam and under sharia law dhimmi’s can not wear the color green.
