Karl like i said in a previous post. Jesus said if you live by the sword you'll die by the sword. That's the bottom line.

Muslims ought to be thankful for the Copts in Egypt, We are the ones who kept the ONLY known spoken Egyptian language I do not know one muslim who speaks the Egyptian language all I see from them is disrespect even to the language of the land they live on, We are the ONLY ones who did not betray our Egyptian identity by refusing to sell it to the arab invaders since 1400 years, we deserve a thank you! from every muslim who calls himself Egyptian not genocide, torture and opression!! shame on thoes who sold Egypt to Arab invaders!!!!
We deserve an appology for millions of Copts that have been killed, raped, abused and torured on the hands of thoes who betrayed their Coptic land and their Coptic people.

Just a point I'd like to make - if you insult a Christian, or perseucte them in any shape or form (verbal, physical, mental - be it small or large) they accept it joyfully and remember "blessed are the persecuted for great is their reward in heaven".
You say a TINY small thing against the muslim God or the prophet - ooooo boy - its over - its all "how dare you insult Allah or the prophet" or "how could you talk like that - die die die"!!! [Im not trying to be insulting, I'm being more or less factual as we've seen from what happened in Egypt]
There is no peace, love or tolerance for anything or anyone who doesnt share their views.
However, in Christainity - peace, tolerance and mostly imporntatly LOVE are the essence of it, for "God is Love"...
Let us pray for the persecuted, but also pray for the muslims that God may grant them peace and open mind and help them solve their problem without violence.
"Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." - Matt 5:44
Let's always rememeber that and keep EVERYONE in our prayers.

11If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
12If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?
Proverbs 24, 11-12

I posted the following in a different thread earlier today. I hope the admins here don't mind me posting it again in this thread. I think it could be of use. In addition to the others here, I also run a weblog ( http://billsey-christian.net/blogsey/ ) in which I share news about the true behavior of Muslims toward non-Muslims wherever the Muslims are not an extremely small minority. I have added the graphic of your pope to the menu of blogsey at the start of the prayer section of the menu. Previous post follows:
Remember Elijah's crying out to the LORD, and the LORD's answer in that still, soft voice? When Elijah—the prophet—thought that he was the only one left who was faithful to the LORD, the LORD answered, “I have yet 7,000 who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” You are not alone. If it takes the physical return of our LORD Jesus, the Christ, Islam WILL NOT SUCCEED. In the end, all those who refuse to recognize Jesus Christ as God Almighty, all those who have rejected a personal relationship with Him, will be blasted into oblivion to spend eternity alone with their unsilenceable, unquenchable, undeceiveable conscience. In eternity they shall suffer and we shall rejoice, by the grace of God, for “it is by grace you are saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, so that no one may boast.” Striving to please the LORD only leaves you short of the mark; only leaves you bathed, covered, and reeking in sin. But Jesus—for us—has done the work that we cannot do, and has therefore earned our trust, our love, and our relationship with Him—with no mediaries in between. God stoops down to converse with man. What God has joined together let not men put asunder. Trust Jesus.

I am very deeply saddened by the events that took place in Egypt. But to make one thing clear, this is not a battle against the Muslims, but a battle against the evil in this world that can’t stand us Coptic Christians to be happy and live our own lives. God Bless You all, and please pray daily for the Coptic’s and Christians in Egypt.

LLessons From History
Dear Coptic People,
There is no earthly solution to the problems of the Coptic Orthodox living in Egypt. Prayers are the only way you will get help. Sometimes God answers your prayers by sending someone to defend you. Throughout the years, our faithful Savior sent us earthly troops to defend us from the Moslem occupation, and we chose not to cooperate with our saviors and we continued to willfully surrender to our occupiers. It happened at the very beginning when our Church leaders felt that the Arab invaders will rid them from the dominant role of the Byzantine Malachite church authorities. Because they wanted the Coptic Patriarch to be the one in authority, in place of the Malachite Patriarch appointed by the emperor of Byzantine. They chose to sit back and do nothing to defend their country. Guess what, their country was occupied, and their Christian Malachite church and the Byzantine Christian authority was replaced by the Moslem occupiers, whom not only dominated the land, but systematically replaced the Christians majority with a Moslem majority. The second time God tried to restore the land from the occupiers happened in the twelfth century when the Nubian Christian King came with a large army to save his persecuted fellow Coptic Christians in the North and free the Coptic Patriarch from custody under the Moslem Governor of Egypt. He defeated the Moslem army decisively, and was able to control the whole country. However, the Coptic Patriarch, either fearing for his own life since he was still in custody (most probably), or taking the worst decision of his life (who knows why). He sent a message to the Nubian King to withdraw his armies and go home after being assured from the Moslem Governor that he will stop the persecution. Of course this promise was never honored, and the persecution continued as before and worse. It happened several times over the years. Most recently when the British occupied Egypt, instead of taking the chance like the Moslem minority in India backed by the British troops took self-autonomy and made Pakistan, again they decided to surrender to the Moslems. Now to those who say that taking arms is wrong, I agree, but betraying your own country when someone was sent to save you is equal to selling your sole to the Devil because you would like to make peace with Satan. Unfortunately, you reap what your ancestors saw. The Spaniards restored their country and they lived to enjoy their Christian faith freely.

I agree that our Lord taught us to be forgiving and loving but He never told us not to stand up for our rights.
John 18:23 - Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
thats all...we are not violent but we have to be assertive.
God Bless Egypt and all His children wherever they may be.
