Muslim pressure prevents building of Indonesian seminary
Officials of the Diocese of Pangkal-Pinang charge that protests from local Muslims have prevented civil authorities from approving the construction of a minor seminary.
Pangkal-Pinang, a city of 135,000, is the largest city on the Indonesian island of Bangka.
3% of the nation’s 245.6 million people are Catholic, according to Vatican statistics; 6% are Protestant and 86% are Muslim, making Indonesia the country with the largest Muslim population
