Christians Under Attack

PCC Chief was commenting on granting bail to accused Muslims, Mohammad Sharif, Mohammad Akram, Mohammad Jamil, Mohammad Ashraf, Mohammad Sajjad and Mohammad Zahid Iqbal from a Division Bench of Lahore High Court on November 4, 2010.

According to Business Recorder “counsel of accused pleaded that they were dragged in the case with malafide intention. The counsel argued in the court that the petitioners/accused had no role in any incident of Gojra carnage. He said police arrested them in a separate FIR and they were never nominated in the FIR of main incident, which led to massive killings”

According to Daily Times “The counsel said the complainant of the FIR, Mainga Masih, was not present on the occasion while one out of two eyewitnesses mentioned in the FIR went abroad and never pursued the case. The counsel further argued that the petitioners had not been charge sheeted despite the lapse of 13 months, therefore, they were entitled to be released on bail. staff report”

Chief Justice Khawaja Mohammad Sharif heading a Divisin Bench of Lahore High Court granted bail on surety of one lack rupees to six accused involved in Gojra massacre after hearing petition for bail arguments.

Dr. Nazir Bhatti said that failure of Punjab police to file charge sheet of case in 13 months and to lodge multiple First Information Reports FIR,s of violence against Gojra Christians was conspired by local Pakistan Muslim League PML(N) leaders to safe Muslim militants.

Pakistan Christian Congress PCC feared after incident that Chief Minister of Punjab and President of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Group PML(N) Mian Shahbaz Sharif is using administrative powers to safe Islamic militants involved in burring alive Christians and destroying Christian properties in Gojra town.

Nazir Bhatti said “Where is Shahbaz Bhatti, a Christian and Federal Minister for Minorities who claimed on coffins of Gojra Christian martyrs that justice will be insured and culprits will be punished? It is crystal clear that Shahbaz Bhatti was also part of conspiracy to safe Muslim involved in Christian carnage to safe his Ministry”

“The Punjab government and Federal Minority Ministry used government machinery to put pressure on Mainga Masih and other Christian witnesses to lie before High Court Bench” added Nazir Bhatti

Nazir Bhatti suspected that two eye witness of case were paid heavy amounts and managed to flee from Pakistan by Punjab government to favor Islamic militants involved in violence against Gojra Christians.
