Muslim Mob Targets Christian’s Family in Murder Case
SHEIKHUPURA, Pakistan (Worthy News)-- While in jail, a Christian teenager's family was attacked after he claimed a Muslim friend framed him for murder.
After Yassir Masih, 18, was incarcerated at Sheikhupura District Jail in February, angry Muslims overran the property of his grandfather; they beat his family with clubs and looted appliances, clothes and household belongings.
"Nothing was left of use for the Christian family," said Khalid Gill, chief organizer for Punjab Province of the All Pakistan Minorities Alliance. He said they also ransacked Masih's home and burned 20 acres of his fields.
Masih's mother, Shamshad Bibi, filed a complaint against the Muslims who looted their house and burned their crops with the Narang Mandi Police Station, said Gill. Police filed a case against the looters, but to date, no one was arrested.
"All the Muslim leaders who instigated the Muslim mob to attack are still at large," said Gill.
While Masih was incarcerated at Sheikhupura District Jail, his brothers, Ashir Masih and Asif Masih, were interrogated by Criminal Investigation Agency officers; they have been detained at an undisclosed location ever since.
