Muslim landlords force Christians to evict their homes

By: Jawad Mazhar ((Special Correspondent for PCP, reporting from Pakistan) Khanewal, Pakistan: (PCP) Jun 27th: Christian residents of village 23/10-R Katcha Khoh Khanewal, off the Vehari road were forced by local Muslim landlords to evict their hom

PCP leant through first hand information of local Christian residents on June 27th.

Talking to PCP, about the peremptory eviction order by the Muslim landlords of the village 23/10-R Katcha Khoh identified as Abdul Sattar Khan, Muhammad Saddiq s/o Abdul Ghani and Abdul Subhan Khan. Christian villager Shehzad Masih said that Muslim elders ordered them to evict because some of the Christian families raised their voice against the injustice which was being served to them. He said 75% families have already locked their homes and migrated.

Rasheed Masih s/o Hadayat Masih revealed to PCP, a Christian widow Laviza Bibi worked for a Muslim landowner Abdul Subhan Khan who lasciviously wanted to sleep with an orphan Christian teenaged girl identified as Gonni only and frequently requested Laviza Bibi to deceitfully entice Gonni to his room or house but his request was always turned down by Christian widow Laviza Bibi shrugging of the fallout.

PCP learnt there were several precedents from the past which could be singled out that those Muslim landlords or their boys raped or bid an attempted to rape Christian women or girls who served at their homes as maidservants.

Order of unlawful forcible relocation by Muslim elders of village was issued only after Christian men, women and girls protested against their disdainful attitude of Muslim women and men with Christians at village 23/10-R Katcha Khoh, Christians Lawyers Foundations’ (CLF) President Khalid Gill and General Secretary Azhar Kaleem told about the pathetic condition of villagers.

Local Christian residents especially Rasheed Masih, Shehzad Mash, Nathaniel Masih s/o Inayat Masih, Christian widow Laviza said we have no other place to settle therefore they appealed and expressed about their apprehensions to the Chief Justice of Pakistan’s apex Court Mian Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary and US ambassador in Pakistan Ms Ann Petersen to evince personnel interest and save their homes.

They also regretted that those Christian leaders who proclaim to be stalwarts of Christian rights are just working for US Dollar, Pound Starlings and Euros. They have no interest in problem of Christians’ in Pakistan. PCP was told by Shehzad Masih, Laviza Bibi & Rasheed Masih

A few days back at Lahore, a Christian family committed suicide due to poverty and their domestic problems. Whereas their house was surrounded by Churches and Christian Seminaries, said Ferhan Mazher head of ‘Rays of Development’ (RoD) Organization adding, in this area of Lahore more than three hundreds and fifty (350) registered Christian organizations were well functional and they monthly or annually get grants of millions of US Dollars under the garb of Christianity or Christian Persecution, but they failed to provide counseling to the impoverished Munaza Bibi and her four Children on time to save their lives.

Khalid Gill, Azher Kaleem and Ferhan Mazher appealed to all the international donors to donate to the honest organizations which are hankering to protect Christian rights. They told PCP some so-called Christian rights defender claim to be pastor and vow to run hundreds of Churches in tough conditions in Pakistan and (Kabul) Afghanistan, Gill alleged, whereas the ground reality is that they were running no Churches or orphanages or shelter houses in Pakistan or Afghanistan for Christians.
