Christian girl killed by gunmen in Mosul

0e984b2b795395b6c0a49abf8890ea02.jpgNinewa, Dec 9, (VOI) – Unidentified gunmen killed a Christian girl in the area of al-Nabi Younes (the prophet Jonah) in central Mosul on Sunday


 police official said.
"Gunmen in a vehicle opened drive-by fire at the 24-year-old Christian young girl at al-Nabi Younes market, killing her instantly," Brig. Muhammad Abdul-Aziz al-Wakkaa, the director of Ninewa police operations room, told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
"The girl's body was removed to the morgue in Mosul," Wakkaa said, not giving further details on the incident.
Christians and other ethnic and religious minorities in Iraq make about three percent of the population in the country.
Mosul, the capital of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad
