blood shedders who speak by the name of Islam. We became weary of the condemnations, the disapproval, the kisses and the hugs in press or on TV whenever acts of violence happens against Copts”. The group decided to defend Islam against distortion. Its members believe in what Quran says that ‘No compulsion in religion’ and that whoever believes in God and the Last Day and did good will be repaid and will not mourn. In its statement, the group refused the atmosphere of hatred created by salafi tides against Christians. We all can remember the Sheikhs who continuously and publicly attacked Christians' belief in sermons, cassettes, media, and in educational organizations. Some sheikhs greatly, directly and indirectly, hurt Christians' feelings by accusing them to be apostates, all that happens while the government is silent and does not interfere.
The group also refused applying the decisions of the Hamayouny Line which state that Copts are not allowed to build a church or even to restore a bathroom of a church without the approval of Egypt's ruler (now the President). Christians suffer from discrimination especially in appointment in leading public positions such as governors, ministers, high positions in the police, in the army, in universities, or in high institutes. The government interfere to prevent Copts from being appointed in some places, sometimes it restricts their appointment so as not to increase in number in a specific place or a ministry.
The report strongly demanded announcing full citizenship to all Egyptians and affirmed that they are all equal in rights and duties and they are all free to believe and worship. The procedures of building or restoring a place of worship must be the same. Religion box is of no use, it does nothing but discriminate, it must be abolished from the identity cards and from job applications
