World Watch: Updates on the Global Church

CWNews.com Christian World News brings you updates on the church around the globe in our World Watch segment

Pakistan Churches Attacked

In the Muslim nation of Pakistan, Christian churches have been attacked. In the town of Sukkur, 500 Muslims burned down St. Mary's Catholic Church and the St. Savior Church.

Rumors that a Christian desecrated Islam's holy book triggered the attacks.
It was later learned that a Muslim falsely accused his Christian father-in-law.

The Sukkur attacks are not directly linked to protests over cartoons of the prophet Mohammed.

But churches in several cities in Pakistan have been attacked in cartoon-related violence.

Bibles for China

It's getting easier to send God's Word to believers in Communist China.

Now Christians in the U.S.A. can send Bibles directly from their homes to Chinese believers.

For $30 the Voice of the Martyrs Ministry will send you 5 Chinese language Bibles, along with five addresses for Christians in China.

VOM says individually mailed Bibles are more likely to reach their destination, because Chinese authorities are more suspicious of large shipments into the country.

Visit the Voice of the Martyrs Web site.

Super Bowl Salvations

In Colleyville, Texas, 66 teenagers put their faith in Christ at a Super Bowl Party this month. Many were baptized right after making their confession of faith. About 400 people attended the evangelistic Super Bowl Party hosted by First Baptist Church.

I believe that Islam is an evil faith, and it is up to all groups to stand against this dark force. Islam hates everyone and we should try to love each other so that we are stronger, as they are looking for our weakness to take us down.

God Bless

WORLD WATCH/GLOBAL CHURCH/VOICE OF MARTYRS

We have contributed to "Bibles To Captive Nations" and "Bibles Unbound" (to Egypt) both on Voice Of The Martyrs website. You can also make a donation for medications, send blankets, etc. -- it is truly a wonderful way to get personally involved with our brothers & sisters who are persecuted for their Christian faith (& it sure provides a wake-up call for all those nominal Christians {'Christians-in-name-only'} in the United States who think following Jesus means attending a politically correct sermon offered by a denominational church once a week ... and that's the extent of their involvement!

May GOD richly bless everyone who calls upon His Name for His Help & Salvation!

Yours In Our LORD'S Love & Service:

KimEllen
